Global Resilience

NASA-Apollo8-Dec24-EarthriseOur world is an amazingly resilient planet.  Biodiversity is key to that resilience and as that web of diversity weakens bad things happen.

Human beings are amazingly creative.  We have come from living in caves to todays interconnected, global society.  We have the ability to destroy civilization and create a pono society where everyone lives in peace while maintaining the wonderful diversity of creation.

As the saying goes, “Think globally, but work locally.”  I would add that we have to work globally to solve global problems, but if we all work locally to solve local problems it will be a big step in the right direction.

I live in Hawaii, so this segment of this website will focus primarily on our Hawaiian environment.  It is appropriate, because Hawaii is 3000 miles from any other landmass.  Being so isolated makes us a laboratory for solving environmental problems.

The internet makes it possible for us to work together globally and people working together can create miracles.
